Coir is a natural fibre formed by the outer part of the coconut shell. The fibrous material can be seen between the hard shell, the inner part, and the outer layers of coconuts. There are two types of coconut coir that possess different usages:
- Brown Coconut Fibre Produced from ripe coconut, this fibre can be utilised as a material for upholstery, sacks, and horticulture.
- White Coconut Fibre Produced from raw coconut, one is used to make fine brushes, fishing nets, and lastly ropes.
